2025 wasn’t as busy a showing year as I had hoped, but a lot of fun was still had. I kicked the year off with an outing with Tipple. I had never taken Tipple out showing before, and honestly I was expecting her to be a total nightmare! However, I was delighted to be proved wrong! She was an angel!
As always, it was an absolute pleasure to be out and about on Monty. Second in our first affiliated class was a highlight, and, of course, it is always nice to take home a sash. I have said it before and I will say it again: he is perfection, despite his wonky confirmation. I couldn’t love him more.
Spectating at shows is something I really enjoy, my favourites this year were the Three Counties at Malvern and the Royal Norfolk at Norwich. So much to see at both of these, not just horsey stuff, great all round agricultural shows.
September involved some early mornings out on hound exercise. 6am starts are always made better when you are behind ginger ears (and bay ones, sorry Tipple!). November saw a glorious opening meet with Monty on flying form. I was sad not to have done anything too exciting with Alfie, but I have promised him 2026 will be his year (and maybe Fliss’ too!).
Here is to a happy and horse filled year of the horse… Watch this space!
