What to wear for a show hunter pony class?
For the show hunter pony classes, you need to wear a tweed jacket, shirt, and tie. You can choose any colour combination of shirt and tie. Personally, I like pale blue and gold, or burgundy and canary yellow. You should wear canary yellow jodhpurs, beige, or any light yellow colour.
Jodhpur boots with jodhpurs clips should be worn on ponies. I prefer oxblood jodhpur boots, but you can absolutely wear brown.
The pony should be in brown tack with a simple number and girth matching the pony. The bridle should have no fancy coloured browband; it should be a plain browband, though you can use a leather plaited one. Quarter marks and shark's teeth can be applied to the pony as well.
The aim here is to have the pony shiny and smart, but we are not going for the bright colors of the show ponies. Essentially, you want the pony to look as it should on the hunting field.
