You may notice at a lot of shows that the mountain and moorland classes aren't split by individual breeds, but that they are split by small and large breeds.

The small breeds are as follows: Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh sections A and B.

The large breeds include the Connemara, Highland, Dales, Fell, New Forest, and the Welsh sections C and D.

Whilst splitting by either small and large breeds or individual breeds is common in the flat and in hand classes, for the mountain and moorland working hunter classes the split is usually done on height.
